About Us

Miquael the Groomer, also known as Michael Urrutia, was born and raised in Los Angeles and began his career path of helping animals in 2015. As a child, it was important and clear for Michael to work with animals but just didn’t know how, yet. After learning how long school was and how much it would cost to become a licensed Veterinary, a life-long dream, he opted to begin his career working from the bottom up. Though he never made it to becoming a licensed veterinarian, he quickly found himself working as a Veterinary Technician learning the ins and outs of the industry, and community, and gaining hands-on experience working with cats and dogs. Throughout his 8+ year tenure in the industry, he discovered his niche for grooming and began his own company, Miquael the Groomer. This new venture was important to Michael because he found a way to fulfill his childhood dream to express his art and grow his career through grooming animals.

 

Since starting his journey he has become a trusted friend, neighbor, and paw pal to the greater San Fernando Valley and surrounding communities. He’s even earned the nickname as “Kitty Whisperer” by some favored clients because of his ability to handle the toughest and most stubborn cats. His holistic and calm approach, not only allows for an individualized experience, but also allows his tranquil energy to be transcended to ease the most fearful, aggressive, and senior dogs/cats.

 

Looking to the future, Michael plans to continue to offer quality grooming services to the community and coach individuals to become groomers. We just recently and proudly launched the ability to purchase a grooming service for an underprivileged and unadopted shelter animal.
